Alcohol & Prohibited Substance Guidelines

Experience has shown that peer group pressure plus the young person’s desire to experiment with alcohol and prohibited substances may result in a young person returning to Howestead Lodge under the influence of either or both.  Should this occur their condition will be assessed by the duty staff and the necessary action taken.  It may be that a doctor or hospital treatment is required or simply that the young person’s condition is closely monitored until the staff feel that the young person is safe and settled.  All the young people at Howestead Lodge are made aware that sanctions may be imposed if they indulge in prohibited substances or consume alcohol; off the premises.

Howestead Lodge Ltd recognises that alcohol and drug abuse is problematic and is committed to helping and supporting young people who may have problems with drink or drugs.
